THE-ARE started from nothing
Hi, I'm R, the founder of THE-ARE and a little bit 'the culprit' that we can write this story together. When I was 23 years old, I decided to create my own brand and I started designing clothes for my friends in a small room. I remember I had a lot of fabric scraps that I had collected during my years studying design. I took the sewing machine, made the patterns, prepared a shooting and organized THE-ARE's first showroom.
Since then my life has been to create with you a story about a girl who makes clothes for her friends.
Thanks to you, for making this adventure possible day by day.
OUR BEGINNINGS
THE-ARE is in English: 'la erre'. I came up with the name because my friends call me that, R. I've always liked to dress differently and feel special with the clothes I wear, so with THE-ARE I saw the opportunity to make girls of my generation feel that way too.
From Instagram the word was spreading and thanks to you, there were more and more of us. You would write me on instagram to know how to get the clothes you saw in photos.
Little by little, the sequin tops became our insignia, and with the idea of growing together, we have launched new collections for events, swimwear and casual, to accompany you in your day to day.
THE-ARE did not stop growing... I remember the day we opened our first website and orders were pouring in. I was not aware of where THE-ARE was going to go!
A road we travel together
Our story is about CHALLENGES, how to create a brand from nothing, produce in Spain or overcome a worldwide pandemic...
Since we started, we have accumulated countless SUCCESSES, but also many FAILURES that we had to turn into opportunities. Day by day we fight to continue writing our story with you!
WE CREATE THE BRAND
I started sewing the garments in a small room and selling them to friends and acquaintances.
We created the iconic Triangle Top
One of our most famous garments, and one that has been selling for years!
First showrooms
We started selling the garments, word spread and so many of you wanted to buy that we decided to make the first showrooms.
Inauguration of the first website
We are starting to sell all over Spain online and we are very excited about it!

We launched together a collection of brutal jackets, you swept!
First physical store
In downtown Valencia, our hometown.
THE-ARE Studio
We became one of the most recognized firms for Graduations and Events. We launched our iconic MONO ONE.
Expanding the family
We are looking to expand the team and open a larger workshop.
We expand our catalog with casual and bath

We sew masks during the pandemic
We manufactured face masks for the healthcare personnel who needed them so badly at that time.

We create the Best Seller for guests
We designed the Mrs. Abril dress and you took it by storm in just a few days.

THIS IS US
Since we started everything has changed a lot!
To give you an idea, I started making the patterns on paper and cutting on the carpet at my parents' house👀 now we make the patterns by computer and cut on a 6 meter table!
Something I am truly proud of is our evolution, always focused on YOU and our CLOTHES. We have never stopped wanting to make you dream with them.
We design our garments from scratch, always inspired by you. We choose the best fabrics and give them shape in pattern making, cutting and tailoring. We make thousands of fittings (and I'm not kidding...) until we find the perfect garments for you. 🤞🏼
